Arrow Exterminators Announces Board Certified Entomologist Recipient
Arrow Exterminators team member earns BCE certification
Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators is very proud to announce that Joseph Dounis, Arrow University Training Manager, was recently accredited as a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) by the Entomological Society of America. Dounis is one of the few BCEs in the state of Georgia to achieve this accreditation.
Joseph started at Arrow in 2014 at the East Cobb, GA service center where he served in a variety of roles, including Termite Service Professional, Mosquito Service Professional, and Pest Control Service Professional. He was then promoted to Training Manager at Arrow University where he has dedicated his time to creating important training content, such as quarterly training, e-learning modules, and classroom instruction within Arrow’s organization and the Georgia Pest Control Association (GPCA).
“I am so extremely proud of Joseph for this achievement. Receiving your BCE takes a lot of time and effort, and it really distinguishes you from others in the industry,” said Alyson Gilleland, Vice President of Arrow University. “This has been a goal of his for quite some time, and I’m thrilled to be able to celebrate this with him and our Arrow team.”
To achieve BCE status, Dounis was required to have a four-year degree in any biological subject, two years of experience in the field, a current CV, two letters of reference, the willingness to abide by the BCE Code of Ethics and pass two extensive exams.
“Becoming a better version of yourself is something everyone should be striving for, be it through hard work, innovation, creativity, or perseverance. Arrow is unique in that it allows people to succeed and grow through all of those different avenues, and getting my BCE is an example of this,” stated Dounis. “Acquiring this certification has allowed me to further myself, to have a greater scope in training and developing new team members, and to become more knowledgeable in a subject I truly enjoy.”
Shay Runion, Chief Human Resources Officer and SVP of Professional Development commented, “Joseph is an integral part of Arrow University, which is Arrow’s training and development team. Not only does this achievement provide great leadership amongst his peers at Arrow, but this also sets him apart within the entire industry. We are proud of his accomplishment!”
