Shay Runion, Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Professional Development with Arrow Exterminators was recently appointed to be the Georgia Pest Control Association’s (GPCA) President for the 2015/2016 year. Runion has spent over 14 years assisting in growing and building the GPCA and is the second female President to be elected in GPCA’s history.
“We are so very proud of Shay and all of her Industry accomplishments. It is an honor to work alongside her each and every day,” stated Emily Thomas Kendrick, President and CEO for Arrow Exterminators. “Her enormous effect on and contributions to the Industry as well as the Association over the last 14 years have helped us all raise the bar for professionalism and integrity.”
Runion’s first experience with GPCA was in 2000 as an Allied Partner at the beginning her career with Dow AgroSciences. Without delay, Runion became involved with various leadership groups and committees within GPCA. Shay recently founded the Professional Women of the GPCA, a new inclusive group for any member of the GPCA, spouse or family member. The Mission of this group is to be ambassadors of the GPCA by encouraging professional development, networking, and sharing of ideas and resources in order to enhance and celebrate the diversity and collaboration among women within the Pest Management Industry.
”The GPCA is a thriving group, full of unique and talented members,” stated Runion. “We are leading the Industry when it comes to state Pest Control Associations. It is an honor to serve the members and represent our Association on the state and national front.”
