Weather Patterns Create Ideal Conditions for Ticks and Mosquitoes
Arrow Exterminators is urging homeowners to remain vigilant this summer to take preventative measures to protect themselves against vector pests such as mosquitoes and ticks. Many cities across the US have experienced warm temperatures in combination with high precipitation levels which creates ideal conditions for these potentially dangerous pests to thrive all summer long.
The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) recently released a new Vector Sectors™ list (see below) of the top 10 U.S. cities with the greatest risk for increased pest pressure from vector pests, including ticks and mosquitoes. As vectors of disease, these pests are able to transmit pathogens such as Lyme disease and West Nile virus to humans through their bites, making awareness and prevention paramount to protecting public health.
